Gobble Gobble [23 Nov 2007|02:45pm]
[ mood | lazy ]

Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving! :D

Me? Mine was great. I technically had the whole "Thanksgiving dinner" on Wednesday. You know, turkey and the works. It was really good food. Went to my dad's high school friend's house in Fredericksburg, VA. So I spent a couple days up there. Now I'm at my college pastor's house, had some bomb Korean food last night.

Winter break needs to come faster, but this break needs to slow down... ; )

Pneumonia... [09 Oct 2007|01:10pm]
[ mood | sick ]

Yeah, so all I really got to say is that pneumonia can really suck... I've had it for a little over a week and I'll have it at most another 10 days.

Heritage Day? [30 Sep 2007|10:14pm]
[ mood | tired ]

So, I'm not quite sure how this worked out, but it ended up being a heritage day for me.

After I finished up at church, we went to this Greek Festival. This was the biggest piece of Greek culture that I've personally seen. The food there was awesome, saw some pretty cool things, but unfortunately... I was broke. I couldn't buy anything but food.

A while after that, we went to Annandale, VA. There was this big Korean festival there. This was for 추석 (Chusok = Korean Thanksgiving). It's also called 한가위 (Hangawi), but lets stick to Chusok. Anyways, there was also a bunch of food here. It was more expensive than the Greek Festival, but I was in a much larger group of friends here. Oh, and there was this big talent show and a rising rock band from Korea. There were a bunch of producers there, so this was a big deal. So one of my friends, Young-keun Lee (not Kim), had a song he'd written and made it into the finals. (I was told that auditions were a few weeks ago). So he plays and he did awesome! At first the crowd was like "ehh..." but Young-keun was really into it. By the end, he had the crowd. Anyways, while he was playing, our group was yelling and screaming for him. This guy in a suit walks up to us and asks if we're 'with him.' Of course, we say 'yes' and he gives us a business card. Turns out this guy was one of the producers!! Freakin' Amazing~! :D

Although I'm incredibly tired at only 10:30PM, today was awesome.

Here's your random image of the day!

Things have been going pretty well here. Got my first tests coming up this week, along with the first part of my semester-long Stats project... Plus, I started working this last week. Campus security. Pretty sweet. Wrote 5 tickets the other day! >:D

Remembrance [11 Sep 2007|10:47am]
Six years ago, our world changed. Don't take life for granted. Don't do things you'll regret in the future.

In honor of those who were victims to the attack six years ago and those who died trying to save them. You nearly 3000 who died will not be forgotten.

Feeling lucky?

Ehh.... [06 Sep 2007|11:31pm]
[ mood | aggravated ]

So I'm taking Statistics 202. Pretty much review from what Beni taught in AP Stats. Anyways, the first homework assignment was Sec 1.1 and 1.2. A total of 77 problems.... 77 problems?!
Well, I did them. Every freakin' one...

So, it took my about 8 and half hours. Yeah, long time, eh? (I feel Canadian now!) So it turns out that in the syllabus that I didn't receive on the first day since she ran out, it had the exact problem numbers... THERE WERE ONLY 14 PROBLEMS ASSIGNED!?!?! Great... just great... I turned in about 25 pages of work.
So, it would have actually only taken me about 40 minutes.....

Talk about wasted effort, man...

First thoughts? [18 Aug 2007|10:26pm]
[ mood | blah ]

Well, I haven't logged on all summer basically... But, here I am. I'm in DC now, on campus at American University. I'm staying in Leonard Hall and roommate just recently walked through the door. His names Vladamir and he's from Moscow, Russia. Far away man...
Anyways, I haven't really met many people yet. I still haven't adjusted, so last night I didn't fall asleep until it was late. As a result, I then woke up late... Went and got my ID card, then bought a couple books. Got some lunch/dinner and started reading the book. Eh, a pretty mundane day. I haven't seen much of the city, but the area around campus is really nice. I'll try and post more often... =P

The Future [06 Jun 2007|04:07pm]
[ mood | uncomfortable ]

This isn't about my other posts...

Have you ever been frustrated beyond belief?
Pissed at how life treats you?
Have you ever been compared to people that are obviously better than you?
Put onto a scale that you have no chance at. Placed into a place where you are pinned, chained down, unable to breathe.
That's how I feel right now....

I try not to think about the future, but I am. And to be honest, I'm beyond irritated. I think of how unprepared I truly am. How we never received the right guidance. How you fail to meet expectations. So I may be see the glass half-empty, so what?
I'm just a freakin' student. Someone is supposed to teach me, right? Or that unsafe to assume...?

What are the point of goals anyways?
They dug my hole... set my hopes too high
...and here I am in it.
Life is throwing in the concrete,
and everyone is just sitting, watching. Laughing...

Whatever resolve I had left is freakin' crushed...

Progress [10 Apr 2007|07:14pm]
[ mood | happy ]

To be honest, I haven't seen this happy in quite a long time, or at least in the last several months. Progress has been made upon that which I posted last. Or, at least I believe it's progress. Today I asked her to prom. But before I did it, I was nervous. And boy do I mean nervous. But anyways, the way I asked her was pretty unique. Or nerdy, which ever you think it is.
So in math class I was pretending to have problems with my calculator. I checked with Janss and then Geoff but they pretended they didn't know what was wrong. I then asked Sarah (that's her beautiful name by the way) if she knew what was wrong with it. On the screen of the calculator was "Will you go to prom with me?" Heh, I guess I am pretty nerdy... =)

Why a Drivers' License is Like a Report Card [08 Mar 2007|07:34pm]
[ mood | mellow ]

So... a mother is driving a little girl to her friend's house for a play date.

“Mommy,” the little girl asks, “how old are you?”
“Honey, you are not supposed to ask a lady her age,” the mother replied. “It's not polite.”

“OK”, the little girl says, “How much do you weigh?”
“Now really,” the mother says, “those are personal questions and are really none of your business.”

Undaunted, the little girl asks, “Why did you and Daddy get a divorce?”
“That is enough questions, young lady, honestly!”

The exasperated mother drives away as the two friends begin to play.

“My Mom won't tell me anything about her,” the little girl says to her friend.
“Well,” says the friend, “all you need to do is look at her drivers' license. It's like a report card - it has everything on it.”

Later that night the little girl says to her mother, “I know how old you are - you are 32.”
The mother is surprised and asks, "How did you find that out?”

“I also know that you weigh 140 pounds.”
The mother is past surprised and shocked now. “How in heaven's name did you find that out?”

“And,” the little girl says triumphantly, “I know why you and daddy got a divorce.”
“Oh really?” the mother asks. “Why?”
“Because you got an F in sex.”

The Bar Exam... [04 Mar 2007|01:39pm]
[ mood | blah ]

So a nun, badly needing to use the restroom, walked into a local bar. The place was hopping with music & loud conversation, and every once in a while the lights would turn off. Each time the lights would go out, the place would erupt into cheers.

However, when the revelers saw the nun, the room went dead silent. She walked up to the bartender, and asked, “May I please use the restroom?”

The bartender replied, “OK, but I should warn you that there is a statue of a naked man in there wearing only a fig leaf.”
“Well, in that case I'll just look the other way,” said the nun.

So, the bartender showed the nun to the back of the restaurant, and she proceeded to the restroom. After a few minutes, she came back out, and the whole place stopped just long enough to give the nun a loud round of applause.

She went to the bartender and said, “Sir, I don't understand. Why did they applaud for me just because I went to the restroom?”

“Well, now they know you're one of us,” said the bartender. “Would you like a drink?”

“But, I still don't understand,” said the puzzled nun.

“You see,” laughed the bartender, “every time the fig leaf on the statue is lifted up, the lights go out. Now, how about that drink?”

Heavenly Computer Contest [21 Feb 2007|02:18pm]
[ mood | bored ]

Jesus and Satan have an argument as to who is the better computer programmer. This goes on for a few hours until they agree to hold a contest with God as the judge.

They set themselves before their computers and begin. They type furiously, with lines of code streaming up the screen. Seconds before the end of the competition, a bolt of lightning strikes, taking out the electricity.

Moments later, the power is restored, and God announces that the contest is over.

He asks Satan to show what he had come up with.

Satan is visibly upset, and cries, "I have nothing! I lost it all when the power went out."
"Very well, then," says God, "let us see it Jesus fared any better."

Jesus enters a command, and the screen comes to life in vivid display, the voices of an angelic choir pour forth from the speakers.

Satan is astonished. and stutters, "But how? I lost everything, yet Jesus' program is intact! How did he do it?"

God chuckles, "Jesus saves."

That's All for today folks. Have a nice day! =)

"Man Talk" [02 Feb 2007|10:21pm]
So, in our quote, unquote "man talk" on the bus today I admitted my current likings, as in girls. Janss and Geoff then went into private discussion and I think they're planning something... Well, it feels both good and nerve-racking to have let it out, but still... We included a new person into "man talk," Chap. So far, participants of "man talk" have been myself, Janss, Geoff, Robert, Young, Bill (McDonald), Chap, Max (Kinda...). If this mentioning of the sacred ritual is forbidden, then this message will self-destruct in 35 seconds, or until Geoffrey posts.

In other news, the new semester has started. I'm very pleased with all my classes except Web Page Adv. It's only tolerable because so many people are in that class. The teacher is the downside. She know virtually nothing about computers. When I went in after school to have her sign a planned absent form, she asked me why her 'back button' on the internet browser wasn't showing up... It took me literally 3 seconds to find it... I really think the others and I know more about web page then she does. Oh well... If worst comes to worst, I'll just talk to my counselor and get early dismissal. 'Til next time.

A Sonnet?! [30 Dec 2006|01:25pm]
[ mood | artistic ]

Well, I told myself I wouldn't post homework on here anymore, but I need some friendly criticism on this. Ms. Wing gave us the task of writing a sonnet, and well, I'm not sure if I did it correctly. It's a English/Shakespearean sonnet. So, here it is! Enjoy, maybe...

My Trials

My voice it stops, it hesitates.
My throat it burns, I cannot speak.
My mind it strays, how is fate's
Extent. I guess that I'm too weak.

My eyes they blur, I must persist.
My ears deceive. "Endure!"
My Heart it screams, "Move through this mist!"
His cries, they reassure.

This confidence I have not felt.
As I approach it reoccurs.
Too late! The damage has been dealt.
This overwhelming sense ensures,

For you the world I'd buy.
My love for you will never die.

PS. If you guys have a better title, suggestions would be very much appreciated! =D

Merry Chirstmas!

Hmm... that took a little while to make. Well,I hope everyone's holidays have gone well. If you don't celebrate Chirstmas, then I appologize, but it only comes once a year. ^^
Its quiet here, which isn't what it normally is. But its OK, all is well.

Soup Kitchen [18 Dec 2006|02:16pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Boy am I tired. Just got back from 5 hours at the Homeless shelter volunteering in kitchen. I love working there though. Its such a rewarding feeling when you're all said and done. I don't mind that some people try and ignore you when you dish up the food, but I love how appreciative many of these people are. The place is packed every time our church shows up. The director says they homeless always ask when the 'Koreans' are coming back. We made bulgogi, fried rice, salad, kimchee, and some other dishes that were donated from local bakeries and stores. I really enjoy this experience.
However, its sad when you see someone you used to associate yourself with in a homeless shelter. One of my dad's friends was there. I felt horrible, he must have seen me when I wasn't looking. So when you came to me (I was serving bananas then) he had his face completely covered and his hat down low, probably hoping I wouldn't recognize him. That was the low point of the whole thing. =(

But enough of that, I need to get going. Volunteering with Key Club very soon at the Tacoma Mall. I think its for the Salvation Army.
'Til next time!

And so it begins again... [07 Dec 2006|07:13pm]
[ mood | discontent ]

And so it begins again...

What it is, I'm not quite sure. I'm cannot even discern whether it is a good or bad thing. But I can feel it. Something beyond my perspective, or perhaps even my comprehension is coming. I cannot describe this feeling, this sensation. My dreams seem only that, dreams. My aspirations are no longer mine to hold. To put it into common terms, I feel something is life isn't going the way its supposed to...

Bah... humbug? Well, I'm sorry for that and for my lack of the posting as of late. I've been, well... sidetracked. I feel somewhat irresponsible in comparison to my comrades in many aspects. Heh... I just used comrades. So now... presented in three short skits will be whats been going on...

OR... not...

In short, I've gotten a car since my last posting. It's a 1975 Ford Mustang II, grey with blue interior and yes... a V6. It is a daily driver project car, so its not too flashy or eye-catching yet. Let's see, what else... Oh, I've also been made Honor Society President and Janss my VP. Other than that, its been pretty much normal.

'til next time (whenever that is...)
